My Bio: Dance Career Profile of Stepan Matkovski Born February 15, l986 My name is Stepan Matkovski. I am a Champion Ballroom Competitive Dancer! I also have the distinction of being a Superior Gold Plus Level Dance Sport instructor, Coach, Choreographer. Ballroom dancing is not just my work--it is my life. This passion for the dance is the driving force that changed my life. I decided at a very young age that I wanted to share this passion with the rest of the world. I made up my mind while I was still a little boy that I was going to be a winner. This same philosophy of life pulled me through my difficult childhood and teenage years. I instill this same philosophy in every student that I teach or coach. This secret plus lots of talent and practicing hard several hours EVERY day is what propelled me to the top of the very competitive Dance Sport World. I became at a very young age, not only a top competitor but also one of the top teachers and coaches in Moldova and Eastern Europe. Russia, Moldova, Ukraine all Eastern Europe have the distinguished reputation through out the world of producing the largest quantity of top quality ballroom dancers many of whom went on to become champions. In fact, Russia excels in every aspect of the Dance. Have you ever heard of The Moscow Ballet Company? I am very proud to have contributed to the training of some of the top Dancers in Russia and Eastern Europe. A huge percentage of my students because of my training and coaching Went on to major competitions all over the world and placed in the top ranks or won their own championships. I conducted many dance workshops. Competition students and top professionals attended these workshops. My winning philosophy was my focus in my workshops as well as when teaching or coaching private students and professional couples. 1997-1999 My training for my life long passion began. My mother enrolled me in my first dance class at The Children and Teenager Arts Center in Ribnita. I had not been dancing too long before I began competing. Even in these early days of my dance training, my superior talent surfaced. I began competing, placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at most of the competitions that I entered. With in two years I became l999 Junior Standard Champion at the very prestigious VDOHNOVENIE International .Championship Dance Sport Competition in Ukraine. 2000--2004 Encouraged by my numerous competition winnings I continued, to compete at the many prestigious Dance Sport Competitions through out Moldova, Ukraine, Romania and Poland. During these years, I won an extraordinary number of significant Championships including 2001 Ten Dance Champion at the prestigious International RIBNITA-EURODANCE Cup Open Dance Sport Championship My championships are too numerous to list here. 2004--2007 In 2004, I began studying choreography at the State University of Moldova as well as economics. I joined the University Formation Team as the LEAD Dancer as well as director and coach. I also taught and coached the students in the University Elite Dance Department. During the next two years under my direction, the University Formation Team won many competitions and exhibitions against the other Universities in The Republic of Moldova
