Broadway Dance Center (New York City) was founded out of one man's pure and absolute love of dancers and their work. Richard Ellner's admiration for the art began when he was a student at Hines-Hatchett, a jazz and tap studio in midtown Manhattan. In 1984, he gained ownership of the studio, renamed it and set off to create a place that would honor and educate dancers and performing artists.
