Can You Keep the Rhythm Dance Team Challenge: VOTE NOW!
On Sunday, Feb. 28, the Knicks City Dancers hosted their 3rd annual "Can You Keep the Rhythm?" Dance Team Challenge presented by the United States Tournament of Dance. I was in the audience and let me tell you! It was an absolute blast. I watched as five exceptionally talented dance studios from the Northeast battled it out for the chance to dance in the halftime show at Madison Square Garden when the New York Knicks play the Atlanta Hawkes on March 8.
A panel of expert judges, including Neil Haskell from Season 3 of "So You Think You Can Dance," selected three finalists: Icon Dance Complex, The Studio and The Star Maker School of the Performing Arts.
But the Knicks City Dancers want to know... who's YOUR favorite?
Watch the finalists and then decide who you want to dance at halftime at MSG! Visit USTD's homepage to get in on the action.

The 2nd Annual Knicks City Dancers Dance Team Challenge
Courtney Galiano from "SYTYCD," Giulia Griffith - Miss Dance of the United States, and R&B singer Kat Deluna
On Sunday, March 1, 2009, I attended the 2nd annual Can You Keep The Rhythm? Knicks City Dancers Dance Team challenge presented by the United States Tournament of Dance. Over 150 competitors danced it out in the Grand Ballroom at Manhattan Center for the chance to perform at a Knicks game during halftime at Madison Square Garden on March 18. The competition was hosted by former "America's Next Top Model" finalist, April Wilkner.
The competition was exciting and cutthroat, but what really got the crowd going were the special performances by Knicks City Dancers, Knicks City Kids, and The United States Dance Team. Celebrity guest judges Courtney Galiano ("So You Think You Can Dance") and Kat Deluna (singer of hit song "Whine Up") gave the competitors immediate feedback after their routines.
See who won after the jump!
Lindsay Live at the Knicks City Dancers Dance Team Challenge!
On March 2, I attended the Knicks City Dancers Dance Team Challenge which was presented by the United States Tournament of Dance in the Grand Ballroom at the Manhattan Center. It was a long day full of excitement and anxiety as 10 dance studios from all over the Northeast competed for the opportunity to dance at Madison Square Garden before a Knicks game.
And Lindsay Live cameras were there to capture all the action!
So, who were the big winners of the Knicks City Dancers Dance Team Challenge? Watch my latest webisode to find out!
Behind the Scenes with Lindsay Live at Madison Square Garden!
On March 2, I attended the Knicks City Dancers Dance Team Challenge, a competition presented by the United States Tournament of Dance. Ten dance teams from all over the Northeast gathered in the Grand Ballroom at the Manhattan Center where they vied for the chance to dance at the one and only Madison Square Garden before a New York Knicks game!
A few weeks prior to the competition, each team learned an original Knicks City Dancers routine. Then at the Manhattan Center, after only a short time to practice, they had to perform these routines for a panel of judges who scored them on technical elements as well as stage presence and performance. I interviewed the teams one by one as they came off stage, capturing all of the energy and excitement of the long day. And when the King Centre was named the winner, I was there backstage with the team members and their teachers as they celebrated their big win!
Check back for this exciting installment of Lindsay Live in the coming days!
Yesterday was the King Centre's big night at Madison Square Garden! I was there with Joe Cote and Dan Graham, cheering on the team from the sidelines as they made their MSG debut doing original Knicks City Dancers choreography for a packed arena. Their teachers and parents watched proudly as they jumped, kicked, and turned just like the pros. It was a defining moment for the King Centre and I was so happy to be there sharing it with them!
