Did SYTYCD gets it..W. R. O. N. G.???

Ok so seriously. Someone please explain to me why the judges did not like Channing Cooke's solo on Wednesday night? Just please someone tell me.  Channing danced with passion and emotion in her solo.  I CRIED during her solo, I enjoyed it so much.  Yes, Karen is a fabulous dancer, too, but I just do not understand why:

Hey Nigel Lythgoe Gimme A Call! We need to chat.

Hi Nigel, my name is Erin Lamont, and for the past 3 years I have made a reel to submit as a choreographer for SYTYCD through my agent. Each time you guys have passed on my reel.  I want some feedback! I AM going to be a choreographer for your show, it is one of my goals that I will accomplish.

That being said, here are some reasons.  I can add a less is more type of flavor to the routines. My style is not based on tricks, more the lack thereof.  I am of the theory that while competition dancers can pirouette their behind off, and illusion and catch turn like crazy, that does NOT mean that they can dance and most importantly, sell a routine.  My style emphasizes that.  Here are some links to prove it, especially check out the links section of my website, the video from my boogiezone master class. My style is one of a kind, more old school lyrical then anything else.

So Nigel, I am signed with DDO Artists Agency, look at this video, look at my website, and I look forward to being the next addition to your show! here are some links to my choreography and recent routines:

"So You Think You Can Dance" attracts every type of performer from self taught b-boys to classically trained ballerinas. But it seems like the most common type of performer in pursuit of stardom is the all American competition dancer. Last season's winner, 18-year-old Jeanine Mason, was very active on the competition circuit and took home many national titles.

Congratulations Jeanine, America's Favorite Dancer!

Congratulations to 18-year-old Miami native Jeanine Mason for winning Season 5 of "So You Think You Can Dance!"

I have to admit, I was rooting for Jeanine since day one. Not only does she excel technically at every style thrown at her, but she also has amazing presence and a sincere emotional connection to her movement. I always considered her the most marketable dancer due to her versatility and personality.

But her best quality, in my opinion, is her strength and control. Dancing side by side with Kayla in the finale it became apparent just how strong she is. While Kayla has beautiful lines and extensions, she has a tendency to look slightly sloppy and willowy, especially next to Jeanine who is clean and compact. That strength really came in handy when she did that unbelievably controlled turn in attitude front and then sustained it at the end during her solo. At that moment I was 100% positive she deserved to win.

And I have to give her an extra shout out for being a fellow South Florida native! It's about time Miami got on the national dance radar.

Congrats again, Jeanine, and all the best in your dance career and beyond!

I'm currently watching "So You Think You Can Dance" (opinions about this later, of course!), so I thought it would be an appropriate time to address some news.

According to E! News, Katie Holmes is going to appear on the show's season finale, airing Aug. 6. SYTYCD reps declined to comment, but apparently there are a lot of surprises in store this season, so says Mary Murphy.
