"In the Heights" and Backstage with Luis Salgado!
"In the Heights" at the Richard Rodgers Theatre
On Monday night, Ashley, Owen, and I went to see "In the Heights" at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City. All I can say is wow! It was worth every single Tony Award. Now that RENT has closed, it's so nice to see a show set in the streets of New York, especially with such an uplifting message of family, hard work, and faith. The music and dancing were unbelievable-a combination of latin styles, hip-hop, and jazz. The entire audience was entertained from start to finish, and so was I. In recent years my interest in Broadway has been on the decline, but "In the Heights" has officially brought it back. I recommend it to everyone.
After the show, we headed to the stage door to see if we could catch my friend and "In the Heights" cast member Luis Salgado for a photo. Well, he went above and beyond and invited us to backstage for the grand tour of the theater. And of course, I had to snap some pictures. Check them out after the jump!
