There's more to look forward to this summer than just warm weather. The return of higher temperatures also means return of the hot tamale train! That's right - "So You Think You Can Dance" will be chugging along for a seventh season starting May 27.
While this is good news for avid SYTYCD fans, it's bad news for Season 6 contestants, especially Russell Ferguson, who was named America's Favorite Dancer on Dec. 16, 2009. Due to back-to-back scheduling, the Season 6 tour has been suspended indefinitely, according to E! news. Jeanine Mason, who won Season 5, also had her reign as America's Favorite Dancer cut short.
A rep for the show stated "It has been a very unique year for 'So You Think You Can Dance' with seasons five and six airing back-to-back and season seven auditions starting in January. Each season we strive to deliver a stellar tour for the fans and are still open to touring opportunities with the season-six dancers in the future, but nothing has been set at this time."
The remainder of the Season 7 schedule includes Dallas on March 10, Nashville on Mar. 14, Chicago on Mar. 18 and Los Angeles on Mar. 26.
