The Lalas, L.A's new group. Burlesque with a twist...

Introducing The Lalas, L.A's newest thing.

The best thing about working for myself is that there are no boundaries, no ceilings, no limit to what and how much of that "what" I can do.

On a whim, I started a burlesque dance group. Trust me when I say: I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel...

I couldn't even dare to count how many burlesque groups there are in L.A. at any given time. The market is saturated. Most everyone has seen (if you are out and about in L.A.) a group of girls do a black fishnet clad number to "All that Jazz" and "Big Spender." And you know what? The Lalas do those numbers as well. What is different? My girls love what they do, they are technically trained and they can sell the $%^& out of my choreography.

About two months ago, I recognized that I could do a show at a lounge right down the street from where my husband and I live. So I called a few of my dancer friends, put together some numbers, went shopping in the fashion district for costumes and voila! A show was born.

The very best thing about it? Rehearsals are fun.  I look forward to them on a weekly basis, there is more laughter and goofing around than anything else.  It is a daily reminder of why I do what I do, with my friends and get paid for it!  Life is good!
