Ron Brown teaches a workshop at Peridance in Evidence Modern Technique!

Ronald K. Brown founded the New York-based contemporary dance ensemble EVIDENCE, A DANCE COMPANY in 1985. Through his company, Brown seeks to "promote understanding of the human experience in the African Diaspora through dance and storytelling and to provide sensory connections to history and tradition through music, movement, and spoken word, leading deeper into issues of spirituality, community responsibility and liberation."

Brown's technique class draws on the Evidence vocabulary, which is a fusion of dance forms from the U.S., the Caribbean, and West Africa. The students will learn exercises that focus on alignment and increasing ones' physical range. Rhythm and liberation of the spirit are also critical components to the class.
