BURN THE FLOOR SIZZLES ON BROADWAY !

Ouch.... HOT, sizzling HOT ! BURNING HOT !!! BURN THE FLOOR is heating up the stage on Broadway.

The latin and ballroom dance spectacular, directed and created by notorious ballroom choreographer, Jason Gilkinson is currently playing at the Longacre Theatre in the heart of NY's theatre district. The intimate setting provides for an intimate encounter with the performers up close and personal.... sweat and all ! Hair is flying, dancers are being tossed, lifted and swung, long legs are extended in angles not humanly possible and these dancer slide and glide across the stage as if they are on invisible skates .... effortless and yet so precisely effort full ! The heart beat of the show is the live music played fabulously ON stage, which drives the copious amount of energy that the dancers exude. The costuming is outstanding and brings a sexy twenty first century edge to Broadway.

The show has broken box office records since it began and recently announced its extension through January 3rd, 2010.  ANYA GARNIS, PASHA KOVALEV and ARTEM CHIGVINTSEV of So You Think You Can Dance recently joined the company. Anya is sassy, Pasha is a performance perfectionist and Artem a true showman. Personally I couldn't take my eyes off of PETA MURGATROYD. Her training at the Kirov for twelve years before she embarked on ballroom dancing certainly paid off. Her legs eleven speak for themselves !!!!

Nigel Lythgoe, executive producer and a regular judge on the show So You Think You Can Dance called BURN THE FLOOR "brilliant" and said, "If you enjoy ballroom dancing, come see BURN THE FLOOR on Broadway. It is ballroom dancing done in a way that has never been done before".

With smooth transitions from routine to routine and from lift to lift, this cast of international dancers display artistry in motion. The show starts off lacking in story line with a splattering of varying genre dances. However, escalates part way through the first half with a HOT swing set, to a SEXY latin set, to a crescendo of contemporary works that has the audience on their feet !

Burn The Floor is playing at the Longacre Theatre, 22 W 48th St, NY  Tuesdays at 7pm, Wednesadys to Saturdays at 8pm, Wednesdays & Saturdays at 2pm and Sundays at 3pm.  To purchase tickets or find out more, check out www.telecharge.com or www.burnthefloor.com
