According to some very reliable gossip blogs, the remake of "Footloose" is in the works full force. And word on the street is that it's going to star "Gossip Girl" heartthrob Chase Crawford. Did anyone even know he could dance? His cute factor just tripled.

Apparently the original pick for the title role was Zac Efron, but he dropped out because he was feeling too typecast after "High School Musical." He's not completely finished with musicals, Us Magazine reported earlier this month, but he just wants to expand his horizons as an actor. Personally, I'm stoked he dropped out... he and Vanessa Hudgens started to get on my nerves right around the second HSM.
