Last month, Dancer Universe ran its first ever online video contest and it was a huge success! Some videos received as many as 110,000 hits. The theme was TAP, and dancers of all ages and abilities uploaded their videos, hoping to win their very own page in Dancer Magazine.

The winner, Miss Halie Guidry from Baton Rouge Dance Connection, received 110,186 hits for her tap routine to "Big Noise" and will be featured in the upcoming April issue of Dancer Magazine. We also gave out a special "Editor's Pick" award for the video we thought deserved some recognition. Read all about these winning routines in next month's issue.

This could be YOU! For the month of March, our contest's theme is DANCE TEAM and it is being sponsored by JAM Cosmetics. All you have to do is upload your favorite DANCE TEAM video before March 31 and you're automatically in the running. Winners will not only be featured in the May "Dance Team" issue of Dancer Magazine, but they will also receive a prize from JAM Cosmetics! Possible entries include: competition team, pom-pon, cheer dance, color guard, baton twirling, drill, kickline, step, high school team, college team or pro team.

How do I enter?

Step 1: If you don't already have a Dancer Universe Account click here and SIGN UP!

Step 2: Visit Flix.DancerUniverse.com

Step 3: Click on Post Video in the top right.

Step 4: Upload your Video and Tag it with DANCE TEAM-MARCH-09.

Guidelines for Submission:

1) Submissions must be in the appropriate dance genre to be considered, i.e. during the month of March, eligible videos must contain DANCE TEAM choreography.

2) The deadline for submission is the last day of every month. So if you wish to submit a video for DANCE TEAM, for example, you must do so between March 1 and March 31.

3) Submissions must include dancers' names, studio name and location, name of the choreographer and title of the work.

4) If the choreography in the video is not yours, you must have the choreographer's permission to post the video and you must credit that choreographer accordingly.

5) Videos can be solos, duos, trios or groups - there is no limit on the number of dancers.

6) Footage can be from anywhere - recital, competition, concert/performance or rehearsal in the studio.

7) No inappropriate material please.
