Before I Discovered Dance

As many of you may know, I was an actor before I discovered dance at the age of 8. Dancing came relatively easy to me, and I think it had something to do with my early understanding of what it meant to be and portray a character. Without acting, I doubt I would be the dancer I am today... and this may be a stretch, but I doubt I'd be the same person either.

Acting gave me confidence, a strong sense of empathy and an outlet to express my own emotions, but more than that it kindled my passion for the limelight. I've always felt most comfortable taking center stage rather than hiding in the shadows of the wings. Whether it was dancing on stage as the Sugar Plum Fairy in "The Nutcracker," calling the cheers on the football field at the homecoming game or winning my high school speech contest, my life has been a series of performances, fueled by my deep-seeded love of acting.

So, I thought I'd share some of my work with you all. Here's a little compilation I put together of my earliest TV and commercial work. (Thanks, Mom!) Enjoy!
