"So You Think You Can Dance" attracts every type of performer from self taught b-boys to classically trained ballerinas. But it seems like the most common type of performer in pursuit of stardom is the all American competition dancer. Last season's winner, 18-year-old Jeanine Mason, was very active on the competition circuit and took home many national titles.

This season, the competition dancer to watch is Channing Cooke. In fact, I had the pleasure of judging her back in 2007 at BravO! National Dance and Talent Competition in her home state of Massachusetts. I was so impressed with her level of skill and performance that I wrote an article about her in a recent issue of Dancer Magazine. As a judge, I see many many young dancers, but something about her was particularly memorable to me - she has the whole package. That's one of the best things about judging - spotting young talent and helping those dancers cultivate it, eventually evolving into brilliant artists.

If you missed it on September 23, here's a video of Channing's audition on SYTYCD:

Dance competition..

Well, I wish i have witnessed the dance competition. This kind of competition makes me dance with the music of the performer. I could make my feet tap on the floor while I watch the show. But I know that the pass ticket of this contest is quite expensive and only of those rich fond of dancing can afford.
