TOP 15 are announced.

Round 2 for Show YouTube You Can Dance is over and now we are on to Round 3. Destini Rodgers was the guest choreographer for Round 2. Her choice in music caused a bump in the road for some of the contestants. She decided to pick Prince's "U Got The Look". In case some of you don't know, Prince has taken legal action against sites like YouTube, eBay, and many others that do not protect his copyright. Prince has obtained the services of WEB SHERIFF, a company that specializes in hunting down pirated content on the Web. WEB SHERIFF removes thousands of videos from YouTube that use his music now.

As the Top 20 were starting to enter their videos the problems started. Several of the contestants could not even get the video to load because of Prince's name being in the description. Some got the video to load, some changed songs, and some just removed his name from the description.

The top 15 were picked by the voting public on Youtube. The top 10 out of the 20 were automatically chosen to move on to Round 3. The judges then picked 5 contestants from the bottom to move on as well.

And for Round 3 they get to learn this from TOKYO:

I won't even lie and say that this combo is remotely good, adequate, acceptable or interesting. I think it's just plain awful. I don't understand why it took him over 8 minutes to teach a 30 second combo. The movement is familiar and not original. The fact that he taught it without counts is a sure sign of laziness. He taught the combo to lyrics but he used an instrumental version of the song. Make sense? No. I absolutely hate this mess. It's a perfect example of a teacher/choreographer being so absorbed in their own ego and not really taking the time to create something interesting for these kids.

I hope the contestants of this round step up their game a little more in the creativity of their videos. This combo is going to need it. I would even be impressed if some of the contestants in Round 3 just took small small small phrases and just re-choreographed it. If I was in this competition that's what I would do with this hot mess.

Blog ya later!
