Celebrate Dance
Steps on Broadway will host its inaugural performance of "Celebrate Dance" August 23 and 24 at 8pm at the Steps Studio Theater in New York. Highlighting the talent of the Steps Repertory Ensemble and Steps Beyond, the education and performance division of the studio, dancers will perform the works of Monica Bill Barnes, Max Stone, Wes Veldink, Jason Winters, Yesid Lopez, Sarae Garcia, Karen Gayle, Milton Myers, Todd Shanks, Kristi Sutton and Alexander Tressor.
From the press release:
The Steps Repertory Ensemble is a company of professional and pre-professional dancers chosen for their diversity, skill and commitment. Working with our world-renowned faculty and guest choreographers, Ensemble members are immersed in a concentrated level of training in preparation for a career in the performing arts. Members have gone on to work with Les Ballet Jazz de Montreal, Cirque du Soleil, Fox-TV's "So You Think You Can Dance", Jennifer Muller/The Works, Ballet Hispanico, as well as on Broadway. "The Steps Repertory Ensemble started in 2002 and continues to grown at a tremendous pace," says Ensemble Director, Claire Weston. "Last September over 80 dancers auditioned for only nine positions."
Tickets for the shows go on sale August 15 at Steps' front desk or by calling 212-874-2410 x27. Price of admission: $15. A reception will follow each performance.
Steps Studio Theater is located at 2121 Broadway, 3rd Fl.
