Hello! My name is Elena Ciccotelli, aka the TrainerDiva and I am offering a fresh, new perspective on dance training. As a dance instructor, choreographer and personal trainer, I am bridging the gap between the dance and fitness industries by promoting and effectively instructing cross training programs for dancers.

For the past 15 years I have been actively involved in all facits of the dance community as a student, a performer, an instructor, a choreographer and now as a personal trainer. You may be thinking, What? A personal trainer? What does that have to do with dance?  Well, actually, it has everything to do with dance. Right now, the idea of a dancer working with a personal trainer is a foreign concept to many dancers simply because the terms personal trainer and strength training have had little exposure in the dance world. I am here to try to change this in person and with my new blog, and make it part of every dancers curriculum. With my experience as both a personal trainer and a dance instructor I realize that there is a need for more education about cross-training for dancers, as it is true that this will help every dancer have a long and more fulfilling career. Ultimately, my goal in this blog is to bring strength training to the forefront of the dance community and to help every dancer take control of their dance training.

While I can not reach out and train all of you with personal sessions (I would like to, but even the TrainerDiva has limitations), my official TrainerDiva Blog, www.trainerdiva.com is all about offering the cross training tools you need to become a better dancer. Everything from effective workout plans, to injury prevention advice specifically designed for dancers, can all be found here as strength training articles will be specifically tailored to dance community needs.

So listen up dance community, I would love to hear what you think about the blog and answer your specific questions. Feel free to send me any of your questions about strength training, injuries or topic requests, to elena@trainerdiva.com and I will respond back ASAP - I love to correspond with fellow dancers, it is the next best thing to personally training all of you! Also, if you are interested in receiving my new brochure, Top 10 Training Exercises for Dancers, just let me know and I will send it out to you as a way to say thank you for listening! Happy Dancing!
