"Nutcracker for Kids" provides a refreshing production of the holiday tradition for children of any age, but especially the tiny dancers. Dance For Joy in Mohegan Lake, NY will present their kid-friendly version of the classic for the first time, with performances on December 20 and 21, 2008 at the Tom Thumb Theater on East Main Street in Mohegan Lake, NY.

"The Nutcracker" is a magical experience, but can sometimes be too
long for the younger children, which is why the one-hour performance
has all the wonderful music and dancing of the original, but at a
length the little ones can enjoy. Performed by dancers from the
school, the ballet will include some brief narration from the popular
children's book, "The Nutcracker," by New York Times bestselling
artist Susan Jeffers.

Everyone will also have the chance to buy a copy of the book and have
it signed by Ms. Jeffers, who created the youth inspired, illustrated
edition based on the time-honored ballet. The experience is designed
for all ages, so even the smallest audience member can understand the
story and delight in the dancing.

The performances will be held on Saturday, December 20 and Sunday, December 21 at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Tickets cost $10 and are available to purchase in advance or at the door. For more information call (914) 526-4486.
