Chase Brock Experience Benefit 2008

One of our fellow Dancer Publishing co-workers, Ashley Eichbauer, is also a member of a company called the Chase Brock Experience. While I have yet to see the company perform, I've had the pleasure of meeting Chase Brock - and by the look of his eccentric and colorful style of dress, I'm certainly interested in seeing what he puts together on stage.

Some very exciting guest artists have just come onboard for the evening, including EDWAARD LIANG (Morphoses/The Wheeldon Company, New York City Ballet, Nederlands Dans Theater), MEREDITH PATTERSON (Broadway's White Christmas and 42nd Street), and DANNY TIDWELL (FOX's So You Think You Can Dance, American Ballet Theatre, Complexions Contemporary Ballet), and you won't want to miss them!

The evening will include live music featuring cellist PETER SACHON, pianist ROB BERMAN and violinist ENTCHO TODOROV, and will feature recent CBE commissions, including original scores by acclaimed composers JOSHUA ROSENBLUM and JOSEPH ZELLNIK and noted Amercian artist JOHN WULP's scenic painting 'In Memory of James Waring'. The dances will include popular dances from CBE's repertory, specialty material assembled only for this benefit, and one very special world premiere.

And just to sweeten the deal, I'm also coming out of retirement and dancing for the first time since THE MUSIC MAN closed when I was 18! That should definitely be something to see .. ;-)

This is sure to be a fun and fabulous evening benefiting our young organization as we continue to grow and pursue our mission of creating a compelling and unique body of work, significant for the melding of exceptional dance performed by a multi-faceted collection of dancers, the commissioning of original scores from outstanding contemporary composers, a strong focus on placing dance in fully designed visual environments, the use of live music whenever possible, and the regular participation of artists from a broad range of media.
