The Pussycat Dolls- I Hate This Part (UK Single Video Premiere)

The Pussycat Dolls

The Pussycat Dolls

Another video premiere and this one is just as boring as all their other videos.

But there are some extremely funny bits. I don't think that they meant it to be funny though.

Video after the jump.

Here comes another video dud from director Joseph Khan.

So it starts off with a book. The wind is flipping through the pages. It's romantic and it eludes to a story about to be told. Flash forward to the end of the video and there is no other reference to this book. Make sense? Nope.

Random deer. More nonsense.

Robin Antin's vision in terms of their styling for this video is looking more and more like a bad drag queen's outfit. The clothes scream Cher's "Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves", Jane Fonda in "Barbarella" and Daisy from the "Dukes of Hazzard".  There are some drag queens that have impeccable taste but apparently PCD aren't seeking their style advice.

I nearly exploded in laughter when Nicole rocked the fist and engaged bicep for the word "stronger" when the dolls are strutting down the empty highway. Is this going to be a tie in with their Lucille Roberts endorsement? On the words "fingers" we see two of the dolls holding hands. Seriously? Who edited this video? Could it be anymore literal? In regards to the editing while I am at it, what was with the random slow motion after the dolls were holding hands? Is that clip going to be used for a weave commercial?

Now imagine the director saying to the girls:

"You are hot in a desert. You decide to sit on hot steel cars to cool off."

Now to you and me that would have raised an eyebrow. Of course it makes absolutely no sense. Don't worry too much about it though because The Pussycat Dolls still did it. Make sense?

My favorite part of the video is when Nicole is in front of the broken down car with the huge wolf behind her. I was hoping it was going to come forward and eat her. Don't dogs attack cats? Is the dog being nice because she is a Pussycat? I vote for the dog attacking. Anyone else with me?

They saved the best nonsense of the video for the end. Now if you "hate this part" of the blog then you have no sense of humor. If you were hot in a desert sitting on a steel car would "hate" that it started to rain. Furthermore, why is it raining in a desert?

I did not get the point of this video. Most videos have a small, small, small plot-line that kinda relates to the song. I missed the entire meaning of this video.

This video is also a rip off from many different sources of inspiration.

If you want to see the features of this video done better then check out the following:

Madonna's "Tell Me"

Janet's "You Want This"

Ignore the song on this video. These are scenes from Julie Taymor's TITUS. Lavinia's torture scenes have a similar look to the PCD video.
