Many of us dream of performing in New York City - the mecca of American dance.  Last month, a Chicago-based dance company - Chicago Tap Theatre - made its debut in the Big Apple with the comic book tap opera, "The Hourglass and the Poisoned Pen."  Read on to hear what they thought of the experience.

"Before we took the stage on opening night, the company as a whole was running a gamut of emotions from intense excitement, to tears, to peace, to almost puking.  That is an incredibly unforgettable and touching thing to have shared with this group of people.  I'm so thankful for it." - Jenna Deidel

"I have always dreamed of performing on Broadway in New York. Being in the Big Apple, dancing and acting, felt completely surreal and exhilerating. Really almost too hard to put into actual words!" - Laura Chiuve

"I'd have to say that actually performing in New York didn't feel tons different than performing anywhere else with CTT.  I attribute that feeling to the dedication, enthusiam, and consistency of the group- including the dancers and the technical team. We worked long and hard on this show and it felt great to just get out there and do our thing. I also feel that we were so fortunate to be there with NYMF [New York Musical Theater Festival] and to be able to work and perform in such a beautiful facility as the Manhattan Movement Arts Center.  What a great way to debut in NYC!" - Melissa Reh

"There is no way to put it in one sentence.  I have been thinking about it all week.  Everytime I think I have a good sentence I think of 4 more I would need to add.  It definitely ranks on my list of best days of my life.  So I will just give you one word instead of a sentence...  stunning." - Kendra Jorstad

And, from the company's production manager (technical artists also dream of taking a show to New York!): "It was an amazing experience and it would not have gone so smoothly without the support staff we had.  Would I do it again?  In a heartbeat.  Just let me sleep off this trip first." - Adrienne Guldin

So that's it!  Have you performed in New York?  What were your thoughts?
