Laura Nyro - I Met Him on a Sunday

Today I bring to you a soulful and simple doo wop, harmony song that would be great for choreographers.
Jenny Lewis covered this song on her tour with the Watson Twins last year. It was an homage to the great feminist singer-songwriter Laura Nyro. Both the Alvin Ailey Dance Company and the Canadian Ballet have used Nyro's music in performance.

At age 17 Nyro had written songs that would go on to be covered by Peter, Paul, and Mary and Blood, Sweat, and Tears. Today, ten years after her death, her quasi-feminist music lives on through albums by the music's female elite - singers like Barbra Streisand, Linda Rondstadt, Diana Ross, and Suzanne Vega.

Song: I Met Him on a Sunday
