Katie Holmes To Perform on So You Think You Can Dance

I'm currently watching "So You Think You Can Dance" (opinions about this later, of course!), so I thought it would be an appropriate time to address some news.

According to E! News, Katie Holmes is going to appear on the show's season finale, airing Aug. 6. SYTYCD reps declined to comment, but apparently there are a lot of surprises in store this season, so says Mary Murphy.

Apparently some photos were taken of Holmes leaving the CBS studios wearing a "black dress with black tights and her hair pulled back tightly in a bun." E! News also reports that "Katie will be doing a version of Judy Garland's song 'Get Happy,' choreographed by Tyce Diorio and directed by Nigel Lythgoe."

I remember seeing her sing and dance on Saturday Night Live a few years ago and I wasn't really enthused. What do you think? Good for her career? Good for the show?
