TRANSFORMERS Are HOT Again, this Summer!
High School and College dance team coaches-are you dreading what the current economy is going to be doing with your costuming budget this fall season?
Are you facing a double whammy of less or no school funding and fewer fund raising opportunities? Belt tightening is going on everywhere. You need to plan, rather than just react to these impending issues. But how?
Look into your costume closet. What costumes or uniforms does your team already own? If you have maintained them, so they are still in good condition, you can reuse them. Maybe they are not as stylish as you would like? TRANSFORM them!
The latest TRANSFORMER MOVIE comes out this week-a great action thriller for the guys. Well, here at Satin Stitches, we do some exciting TRANSFORMATIONS ourselves!
When you think about transforming a costume or uniform, think ADDITIONS or easy SUBTRACTIONS. You do not want to spend lots of time-as in-money on time consuming ripping things apart. You want to be able to cut things off, such as turning long sleeves into short sleeves or pants into shorts. You want to be able to ADD trim, rather than the time consuming task of removing trim.
Maybe adding accessories can spice up your costumes? Add a new pant or short to your leotard? Add a set of gloves or gauntlets to your sleeveless top? Or simply add some GLITZ! We can add sequins or rhinestones to your plain-jane costumes.
Send us a photo of your costumes to let us see what you have. We may then ask you to send an actual costume to see the construction, to decide what is really possible, for a limited amount of labor.
We can help you think of ideas for your old, tired costumes. SAVE MONEY by recycling your uniforms.
Also, plan ahead this year, if you are able to purchase new costume or uniform pieces. If you can wear them again next year, slightly altered, you will be stretching your costume budget. THINK INVESTMENT, as with everything else. Sure, you need to splurge every now and then, with a whimsical costume piece. But buy quality basic uniform pieces that you can wear season after season, and then just make a few additions to spice things up!
