Italian food...always a good choice!
Life On tour...sounds great, 'cause you travel, perform in different theaters, go out to eat, go shopping, stay in a hotel room and all that jazz, but how long can you live like that? I am an Argentinian 21 y.o. dancer, now working with Les Ballets Grandiva, on tour in Japan for 3 months, and I have to say that "HOMESICK" is my everyday mood...a "HAPPY HOMESICK" though.
Food: A constant fight to stay healthy!
On tour we don’t usually have a kitchen, so to eat something, you simply go out to some restaurant. Depending on the city or town you’re in, you might find something you like eating for a good price or not. The hardest is when you are in a country like Japan, where they have a complete different language, so on top of finding some restaurant that serves the type of food you want to eat, it must also have “EGO MENU” (English Menu in Japanese). Sometimes after the performance there is nothing open because is too late. “Room Service” is always there until 11 p.m. So, you can do what I do. Whenever you find a supermarket, buy instant soups, cereal, powdered milk, cookies or whatever you find that you can pop out of your bag and improvise dinner with. So on tour I always have a “Just in Case Bag,” which has non refrigerated eatable options in case of extreme hunger.
