Lord of the Dance Masters Courtroom

Michael Flatley must have done a jig on his way out of a Los Angeles courthouse today. A woman who accused him of sexual assault has been ordered to pay $11 million for defamation of character and extortion. He's Lord of the Dance and the jury!

Real estate agent Tyna Marie Robertson claimed the Irish dance star had raped her in a Los Angeles hotel room in 2002, and, according to the Associated Press, she threatened to sue unless he agreed to pay "a seven figures settlement." Police refused to press charges on Flatley, who says that the encounter was consensual.

Robertson attempted to file a $33 million lawsuit in Illinois, but the case was dismissed. Flatley's team then counter-sued for extortion, intentional infliction of emotional distress and defamation. The judgment order was handed down yesterday, after a ruling was reached earlier this month. Flatley plans to donate the settlement money money to charity.
