Jane Franklin Dance presents Zip Through a Tight Space at Arlington Arts Center on May 31 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.  Admission is Free.

Zip Through a Tight Space inhabits the outdoor and indoor spaces surrounding Arlington Arts Center to bring to view recent works from the 2008-09 Season:
"Breaking Ground" combined round wall skate boarders with dancers and redefined dance in relation to environment and neighborhood.  For this performance, the outdoor wall facing N. Monroe Street becomes the projection surface and company dancers are joined by a range of community participants.  Inside, the company performs "In Passing" a collaboration with the Washington Saxophone Quartet, and offers up a selection of brief vignettes for confined space.

The free event is the company's fundraiser for 2009-10 and for new projects:
"Of Bones and Bridges" examines the tensions between humanity and the natural world and "Reconstructing Identity" investigates the relationship between performance, gender and virtual reality.

Enjoy these performances and previews, food, conversation, and a silent auction as we pass the "hat."
