Details
Jane Franklin Dance performs a concert of two works on Saturday January 31 at the Navy Memorial Heritage Center Burke Theatre at 8 pm.
Breaking Ground includes music by monstah black and a live music performance by Low End String Quartet. Dancers interact with video and react with dynamic movement to reinterpret the skateboarding experience in a whole new way.
Indistinct Boundaries blurs the lines between virtual and real. It explores polar opposites by animating shadows and by casting shadows of objects that are not there. Bryan Leister has generated the music mathematically and has created animated organic structures that are projected onto the dancers and into the space.
Info and tickets: 703.933.1111 online at www.janefranklin.com
Tickets at the door: $25 general, $20 seniors over 65 and students, $12 ages to 2 to 17
Breaking Ground is made possible in part by a grant from the Creative Communities Fund of The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region, a grant making program of the Creative Communities Initiative.
