Jane Franklin Dance performs at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, 641 D Street NW, WDC on Saturday January 10 at 8 pm in That Indistinct Edge, a concert introducing Indistinct Boundaries, a new collaboration with media artist Bryan Leister.

Indistinct Boundaries blurs the line between virtual and real, between what people expect and what actually happens.  The piece can be described  by considering polar opposites - Liberal and Conservative,  Nature and Urban, Developed and Undeveloped.  Nature around DC is every bit as beautiful as the Rockies. Just each in it's own way. Landscapes in the Rockies may be Superfund sites or abandoned mines that are so contaminated no development is allowed. So, who is to say which landscape is more natural?  Dykes Marsh on the Potomac is full of trash, but as a tidal marsh it is cleaning the river of debris that would otherwise float out into the open ocean.

The performance includes Incidence, an installation art collaboration following the non-linear trajectory of chance.
