COMPETITION
NYCDA believes in the performance opportunity that dance competition provides.  Additionally, the NYCDA faculty are the judges that provide positive, productive and motivating professional critiques that prove to be an invaluable tool for taking the next step.  

SCHOLARSHIPS
Each regional weekend awards 25++ scholarships - for nationals and regionals.  Additionally, in the summer of 2009, a new college scholarship program was founded and $320,000 in college scholarships were awarded

The PULSE: Las Vegas

NEW YORKââ,¬"The PULSE, an NYC-based hip hop and contemporary dance workshop, will host several action-packed, dance-filled weekend events throughout the country.

The all-star choreographer line-up includes Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, Brian Friedman and Tyce Diorio from FOX's So You Think You Can Dance, Laurie Ann Gibson (MTV's Making the Band), Shane Sparks (MTV's America's Best Dance Crew), Cris Judd (Lifetime's Your Mama Don't Dance), Dave Scott (Stomp The Yard, Step Up 2) and Gil Duldulao (Janet Jackson).

This line-up of choreographers is exclusive to The PULSE, and we proudly present an unprecedented dance event that is sure to inspire, motivate and educate each dancer that attends.

The PULSE is a cutting-edge workshop designed to give dancers from all over the country the opportunity to train with the industry's hottest names in dance. The choreographers strive to give participants the tools and education necessary to explore pure movement as well as popular dance forms.

Each workshop offers two full days of classes with The PULSE faculty members, and a TEACHERS ONLY private class. The weekend event also features a Performance Showcase with critiques by The PULSE faculty and is open to all participants that wish to be part of this all-student show.

YES!!!! Online registration is now active. Go to our TEACHERS web page and register your studio. Enter your Student Roster, Enter student Name, Birthday, Gender and Level - all you ever have to do is add or delete students to go to any of our competitions. Register for an event  Enter your Song Title, select Division, select Category, select your City, check the students in routine.  Routine is entered!! Age, Intermediate or Advanced, all done for you. It'll even check for errors. Not sure if 1/3 of group is more than 2 years older than division, no problem it's done for you. Is half the group advanced and half intermediate? or was it 1/3? Again no worries, level is determined for you according to the rules. More features will be added soon, but you NO LONGER have to fill out entry forms!!!
